I’ve renewed my website sponsorship for Earlestown Cricket Club for the 2025 season.
Earlestown Cricket Club has been my home cricket club for the past 3-4 seasons, and it feels right now I’m beginning to get to the point that I’m contributing more than just off the field. I’ve started this season pretty well, with two wickets and an average score in double figures in the midweek cricket. Only one duck so far as well!
The team has started well, as it’s a year of transition as we’re switching leagues, there’s almost a free hit this year. What has been lovely has been we’ve picked up a number of players this year from a number of sources. Being an open, inclusive club where everybody can get a game if they like and with very little gatekeeping has meant we’ve expanded our midweek teams from 2 to effectively 4 teams.
It has mean competition for places has been fierce, and nobody is guaranteed a game. The youngsters have come along, and all in all it’s been a really positive vibe around the club. One I’m happy to support for another season.
