Preload LCP Image 1.3 Launched

Today sees the release of version 1.3 of my “Preload LCP Image” WordPress Plugin!

This update introduces a new feature on the options page to default the LCP Image, if not provided on an individual post or page. It’s a much requested feature that I’ve implemented, albeit there’s a few caveats.

You can view the option on the Settings > Preload LCP Image, and tick the “Default to Featured Image” option to set the featured image as the LCP image should you wish.

One thing to be aware of is sometimes speed improvement plugins filter the URL after Preload LCP Image gets it. Unfortunately there’s not much I can do about this, but I have been asking developers of individual speed improvement plugins to fix it. You can read about the known issues here.
